Wedding Invites

Hi all.  I haven't posted in a few days, don't want you to think I've bailed out again.  I have a few things to share here soon, I have just had some busy days and haven't had a chance to look at my photos.  In the mean time, I thought I'd share a wedding invitation and logo I designed for my cousin's wedding a few weeks ago.  They turned out pretty cute and the wedding was beautiful.  Congrats again Kim and Andrew!

These little word cards were sprinkled all over the reception.  There were about 20 different cards total.  The bride came up with all the words that related to marriage.  It was a really cute idea.  I just wish I had some photos to share of what they look liked on the tables.  I don't think they'd probably appreciate my snatching photos from the wedding album for my blog either.  We also turned the logo into a sticker that they placed onto the favors (little packets of coffee and teas.)  At the time of the wedding I guess I wasn't thinking of a future blog post.  Lame.  I know.

Congrats again Kim and Andrew.  I hope you two have a wonderful life together.

March Calendar

Hi all.  My giant project is starting to come to a close.  I submitted the 128 page catalog and the auction invite to the printer yesterday.  Just a few more things to go (time consuming things, however) and hopefully I will be back to a little more regular posting.  I will share the some of the stuff I've been working on later.  I also have 2 wedding invitations to design here in the next few weeks.  I'm really excited about those.  So in the mean time, here is the March desktop calendar.  Hope you like it!

February Calendar

Hi friends.  I'm still here.  I have been a busy bee and DGYDD will probably be fairly quite through the end of the month.  So hang in there (Jo), I will be back to posting about food and whatnots before you know it!  For now, here is the new calendar.  I tired to come up with a Valentines type theme with a twist.  No hearts, PEACHES!  I made two different sizes this time.  One more MAC and the other more PC friendly.  Hope you like it!  Sorry for such a lacking Wednesday post, I didn't have time to wander the web.

So I thought I would share what's been occupying my time and my brain lately.  This is the logo I created for the upcoming Museum of Arts and Culture's auction.  Along with the ad that is being run in both local and national magazines.  Pretty exciting for little old me.

January Desktop Calendar

hey all!  I have been quiet, oh so quiet.  I decided to take a break from everything and just kick back over the holiday.  Christmas and New Years was great for us.  Very relaxing and easy going this year.

I have a few ideas up my sleeve for new posts for this year.  I feel like I don't share enough design stuff here.  So my first new year's plan is to make monthly wallpaper calendars for anyone who would like a spiffy new desktop wallpaper every month.  I have no idea what the themes will be, but this was the first one that came to my mind.  I hope you are as excited about this little project as I am.  I'm a little late on January, from now on each new calendar will be posted on the 1st.

Christmas Card

Stinky Love

Have a spot in your bathroom that needs a little something.  Here is a silly little picture if you'd like.  I needed something, so I whipped this little baby out, then I thought, why not share it with everyone else!

Some cards...

I was going through some cards I have made in the past for people.  I have made a vow to never buy another card again.  I figure that a) sense I'm a designer and b) I work in a print shop I should never pay the $3.50 for a card.  I've been doing pretty well too.  So I decided I would go through some and make a few changes and post them if anyone is looking for a simple but cute card to give to someone.  They are half sheet.  So the dimensions are 5.5w x 8.5h.  Print them on 8.5x11 card stock, or what ever paper you have laying around.  Have a great day!

Happy April Fools friends!  Anyone do anything funny to a deserving victim? I decided this morning that I was going to forgo tights for the rest of this winter because it is now April and spring is here and Spokie was supposed to be sunny and warm today.  Then I went our side to start my car, saw the gray clouds out yonder, and marched straight back in the house and put on the first pair of tights I got my hands on.  Sigh.  Can't rush summer.  Sorry legs.

So, now that I just shared something that nobody cares about, here is a new little 8x10 picture for anyone that wants it. WITH, no typos, thank you very much!  Can you see where the artwork came from?  I have it on my wall in my living room.  All my company at one point or another seems to read it and chuckle to themselves.  Hope you like it!

Happy Valentine's Day!  Hope you have something fun planned with someone you love.  I do!  Kam and I got each other a gift and we are having an extra fattening yummy delicious dinner tonight made by yours truly. Baked mac and cheese will be involved per Kam's request.  I Wanted to post something cute and Valentine's Day inspired, so I made a little 8x10 print if anyone is looking for a little lovely for some random nook or cranny.  Or, shrink it down and make a card.  Do what you wish, hope you like it.  Have a lovely day!

Logo

I haven't shared too much artistic stuff so far, so I thought I would post a logo I created at work today for a little coffee shop.  They haven't given me any feedback on their thoughts yet, but I thought I might share it anyways.
