360 Degrees of Awesomeness!

We ordered our car seat last night!  This may not sound very exciting to anybody else, but let me explain why we are so super stoked about our new purchase.  We have/had a dilemma. We bought a Honda Element, which we love, but(!) the back seats are not baby lifting friendly.  If you have never climbed into the back seat of an Element, its a bit of a stretch/reach into the seat.  So lifting a 10 or 20+ baby in and out could potentially become a problem.  Especially for a momma's back.  Insert the Combi Zeus 360.
What appears to be a clunky old car seat is actually a work of genius.  It rotates 360 degrees!
After considering our options, and questioning if we were going to have to trade in our beloved Element for something more conventional, we discovered the Zeus 360.  Every other reviewer on Amazon said that they were considering getting rid of their Element too because of the same issue until they bought this car seat, and their troubles were over.  Obviously we don't have the baby yet to know for sure if this seat will be a dream come true for us, but I'm optimistic.  Bonus, we found the chestnut seat last night on sale for $110 off the normal price.  So thats why we finally bit the bullet and purchased the seat.  I will have to do a review on the seat after we have used it for a few months. Some of you parents might be thinking that we are going to miss out of the bucket type travel seat that you can remove and keep baby in while they are sleeping, and we know know we are missing this element, but you can't have it all I suppose.

This post, my friends, will be continued....

Cherry pickers and a "little" news

Happy monday.  How was your weekend?  Ours was perfect.  Saturday we went couch shopping.  We had a very specific style, color, and fabric that we were looking for and I wasn't very optimistic that we would be able to find all three in one.  We quickly narrowed it down to a brand we wanted, and went from there.  After about our 7th furniture store, we met the lovely Mary who listened to our requests and made it happen.  We couldn't be any happier and I can't wait until they arrive...in 6 to 8 weeks.

Sunday we went out to Greenbluff and went cherry picking.  I think we must have ate about as many as we picked.  It was so nice to be under the shade of the trees and pick the warm cherries.  We were the only two people in our area so it was like we had our own orchard for about 20 minutes.  We had the choice of picking Bing or Ranier cherries.  Our intentions were to pick both, but we just couldn't stray from the Raniers.  So yummy.  Here are a few pictures from our picking adventure, followed by my little news.

So the main reason for the break from blogging over that past few months is because we found out that were were going to have a sweet little baby.  Baby boy in fact.  I am currently 29 weeks (out of 40 for those of you who aren't savvy on baby gestational weeks).  We couldn't be more thrilled about our upcoming addition.  So much to do in the time before and after he gets here, but we'll all manage and are so looking forward to his arrival.  I can't wait to share some of the little baby things we have picked up so far and some of my thoughts and experiences about being pregnant.  Now I'm really going to be getting my dress dirty.  Baby dirty... =)

Lost but possibly not forgotten...

(Recent picture of my parents and I at my cousin's wedding)

Hello friends and family.  I have had you all on my mind lately.  I never would have guessed how many people would wonder why I stopped (or as I have been telling myself, took a break from) blogging.  I was actually really surprised how many of you questioned my silence.  Sometimes you just need to step back and gather your thoughts.  I guess I realized lately was how much I enjoy reading blogs from people I know or don't know.  I have a cousin who has two adorable kids who I wouldn't know too much about if it weren't for her blog, my sister-in-law's weekend goings, my best friend's sewing projects and not to mention all the inspiration gathered from people all over that I read about daily.  So I guess its no wonder people have been asking "What the heck I've been up to?" and "Why are you slacking?" And my answer would be, I just needed to.  So for this return from the break post, I'm going to keep it short.  I have some news and some things to share as time moves on.  Hope summer is treating you all well.  It's a little too hot here in Spokane for this no AC girl's likings, but Dex doesn't seem to mind sharing his pool with my feet.  Talk with you soon...
